A consulting firm designed with parents & families in mind — getting you ready for college admissions
So, you’re preparing your student for college.
But where in the world do you start? Ask Dr. Hoffman — that’s me. This website and the resources I offer are designed specifically with you in mind. One of my favorite parts of being an admissions officer was helping parents and family members navigate the process.
I’m excited to work with you.
Before we begin, let me introduce myself.
Here’s the thing. Most former admissions officers and former directors either become high school counselors — or they open their own consulting practice, taking on a handful of clients.
But based on my experience, I know nearly everyone needs college admissions information to help their student. That’s why I created this course - 9 units, 96 lessons, and more than 6 hours of content, giving you the A-Z of college admissions and financial aid.
So what’s this about the Parent’s Ultimate College Admissions Course?
-
This is an asynchronous, go-at-your-own-pace kind of course. Cram it all into a month, or just take it one step at a time. After all, the entire timeline for college admissions typically takes a year or more; in the end, it’s up to you.
-
I’ve developed this course over the past year, so I’ve taken my time to think through the sequencing and design. First, you’ll get organized and ease into college search planning through research tools; then you’ll learn about visit options and ways to interact with colleges, followed by hearing from me about the various admissions plans. And so on and so forth. While you can jump around to specific topics, I recommend that you go in order.
-
This course isn’t designed only for those who can afford the thousands it might cost for a private counselor. That’s why I’m charging a nominal monthly ($149) or annual ($549) subscription fee — with 20% off your first month/year for a limited time (use code: SITELAUNCH20 at checkout). Cancel at absolutely any time. And if your student qualifies for fee waivers or receives free- or reduced-priced lunch in school, it’s absolutely free.
-
If your student is a bit younger - say, 10th grade or below, and you just need to begin the process, I also offer the Parent’s Introductory College Admissions Course. In just a few hours, I’ll give you all the tools you need to get started.

The best video that I have ever watched among its kinds. Thanks much!

This is likely the most insightful video on the "backroom discussions" that take place on admission committees. You made a process that feels capricious and opaque to an outsider appear transparent and logical.

Thank you for the video!! This was very insightful and I learned a lot compared to other college advice.

I am a professor emeritus at a major research powerhouse university and despite serving on countless graduate and medical school admissions committees, have utterly no idea how undergrad admissions committees work. Thanks for the insight! A big reveal to me after 48 years on the faculty.
